In Borghola village, the first people to embrace Christianity of the Roman Catholic denomination were Billo B. Marak and his wife, Bipula G. Sangma. By nineteen ninety-seven, there were only six Catholic households in the village. Initially, a simple thatched church was constructed. At that time, the village fell under Bongaigaon Parish, although later it was reassigned to Bahalpur Parish due to the distance. During this period, a tin-roofed church was built with the help of Fr.
